Our Liberal Press, Chapter Ten Thousand

So by now we've all heard about CBS' show 60 Minutes having a lying right wing hack on their show to spread a completely fabricated story about Benghazi, which enabled the usual right wing maniacs to erupt again in a frenzy of false attacks on the Obama administration; and we have heard how easy it was for even semi-serious investigators to prove that the story was totally false.  We have heard how this malicious liar was, in return for this smear job, given a deal by Threshold Editions (owned by CBS) to publish his fallacious account of Benghazi.

The book has now been "withdrawn:" after it had done its job of spreading this phony narrative of the events in Benghazi, written in the first person by someone who turns out to have never been there during the attack:

"The publisher for Dylan Davies, the source of "60 Minutes" controversial Benghazi report, announced on Friday that they are pulling his book "in light of information" brought to their attention since its publication.

Threshold Editions, a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster, which is owned by CBS, said in a statement they are notifying stores that copies of the book, titled "The Embassy House," can be returned to the publisher...CBS had already come under fire for not disclosing that the CBS owned Simon & Schuster was publishing a book by Davies about his Benghazi experience. Both Jeff Fager, the chairman of CBS News and executive producer of "60 Minutes," and correspondent Lara Logan have said they regretted not including a disclosure."

So, one false book gets massive publicity.  And CBS has come "under fire."  That will, I am sure make them very sad.  In the meantime, here are some of the other authors published by Threshold Books:  Glenn Beck, Oliver North and Mark Levin.  Any one of these guys' books contain more lies that the Benghazi guy could hope to tell in his whole life.  When will CBS apologize to the country for distributing these other writers' hateful lies?  And more importantly, when will a network that pretends to have a news division stop selling right wing hatred and paranoia on the grounds that anything that makes money is fair game?
