Republicans Show Their Respect for the Constitution Once Again

In Arizona, where the State Senate has just passed this:

"Senate Bill 1433 would create a 12-person "Joint Legislative Committee on Nullification of Federal Laws," which would "recommend, propose and call for a vote by simple majority to nullify in its entirety a specific federal law or regulation that is outside the scope of the powers delegated by the People to the federal government in the United States Constitution."

Talking Points Memo, which is covering this story, mentions the following quotation, which apparently escaped the notice of Republicans, while they are fighting so hard to preserve the constitution:
"This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding."

Republicans do not give a damn about the Constitution, the deficit, jobs, the welfare of the American people, the survival of our country, or even the most basic human decency.  They  care about nothing but their own greed and hate.  I am sure they are laughing themselves sick when the press, over and over again, takes their jingoistic lies seriously.

And now this outrage in Wisconsin:

"Senate Republicans have approved an order to detain the 14 missing Senate Democrats for contempt of the Senate. The Senate had passed a resolution Thursday morning, ordering the Democrats to appear on the Senate floor by 4:00. That didn’t happen, and Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald signed orders holding each Democrat in contempt of the Senate, and orders to detain them which amount to the same thing as arrest warrants. “I’m still hopeful that this is the remedy,” said Fitzgerald."

So the Republicans are now going to "detain" Democrats, "which amount to the same thing as arrest warrants."  In case you can't add this up, legislators are now to be thrown in jail for refusing to go along with the criminal Republican destruction of Americans' constitutional rights.  I would like someone to explain to me how this differs from the behavior of Nazis after March, 1933, when they threw opposition politicians into concentration camps.

But it's okay, nothing to notice here- the Republican majority leader of the Wisconsin Senate says "I'm still hopeful that this is the remedy."  Well, don't worry, Mr. Majority leader.  If this doesn't work, you can always continue down the road paved by the Nazis and just murder them.  That always works.
